Health Education Program
In the foreground are two masters of public health students from Georgia State University speaking to community members from the Snow Hill community of Clinton, North Carolina, and Sherri White Williamson, Executive Director of the Environmental Justice Action Network (EJCAN). The students are working with EJCAN to develop a health education program, and a health survey to help determine the impacts from the local landfill (one of the largest in the state), and the large number of Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations (CAFOs) that are contaminating the air,land and water of the community. Students from Georgia Stste have committed to continue to support this project for the rest of the calendar year.

Capacity Support For City of Navassa, NC
Meeting the the University of North Carolina Wilmington, the Mayor of Navassa, and the Chief of Staff at the US EPA Region 4 in Atlanta. A partnership was developed between the school and city to support health issues, planning, and other concerns over a ten year period. The partnership continues to this day.
